So what do you think?
So I'm watching Miss America. This year they make it a real deal to bring the pageant to the 21st century!
But what is you typical, model, modern woman? And what about the modern man?
The role of a person has change so much during the last 100 years. And my reality might not be the same as you, as we don't live all in the same country and in the same situation!
So, please respond in a comment(including the country you presently live in) and I will post it here in a couple of day(probably wednesday!) with what you said and a link to your site!

Basically my version of a modern woman is one who wouldn't feel compelled to go into a pageant in the first place. All that 'choose me, choose me' stuff - I just don't feel a kinship to women who need to compete like that.
Country - I believe it's the same as yours!
By the way, I finally did your 7 things meme.
If she can do hand-to-hand combat and propose to a guy, that's modern enough for me!
This is a question I think requires years of research... and by the time it is finished - things will have changed anyway.
To put short... women of today are considered beautiful if they are slim, have a pretty face, are young and smiles a lot.
Miss Teen America proved the fact that their intelligence has nothing to do with anything in a beauty pageant... at least not enough to make a difference.
Julia, they say that the have update it, but the look is the same old one! The biggest one was like a size 5!
And I'm going to see you meme in a few!
IP, a kick ass woman with a romantic side, that is your kind of women?
REH, is that your definition, or the world in general? I want your version!
And the 3 of you forgot the version of your modern man!
Hell yeah. I get tired doing the chasing all the time.
I wish that I could find someone to chase...Say to yourself that atleast you have some people to chase! Most of the guy my age has gone west, here!
okay, okay - I'm here.
now what?
My thoughts? Meh... here, I stole these for you:
"People see you as an object, not as a person, and they project a set of expectations onto you. People who don't have it think beauty is a blessing, but actually it sets you apart."
"Beauty is unbearable, drives us to despair, offering us for a minute the glimpse of an eternity that we should like to stretch out over the whole of time."
"I'm tired of all this nonsense about beauty being only skin-deep. That's deep enough. What do you want, an adorable pancreas?"
"Remember that the most beautiful things in the world are the most useless; peacocks and lilies, for example."
"Sex appeal is fifty percent what you've got and fifty percent what people think you've got."
Yup. That's what I think...
Thought I'd hop on over and let you know I've finally posted that meme to tagged me to do...
Phew!
*wipes sweat off my forehead*
Jill, are you okay?
